
The Utilities Board of Tuskegee owns and operates an electrical transmission and distribution system providing services to about 7300 consumers in Macon County and Tuskegee. The consumers consist mostly of residential (90%) and commercial, with a few large government consumers. The two largest electrical consumers are the Tuskegee University and Veterans Hospital.
UBT purchases power from Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) at 44 KV Meter Station located in the City of Tuskegee Industrial Park and at an 115KV delivery point at the North Main Street Substation in downtown Tuskegee.
UBT delivers the purchased power from the 115 KV service point through the North Main Street and Shorter Substations. The 12.47 KV Distribution System from these substation delivers power to the customers, and can to expanded at any point. |
